Daren Wise

Daren Wise came to Tokyo from Manchester at twenty-three for a summer job at a Shibuya mini-theatre and never left. Fifteen years on the Asian festival circuit, fluent in Japanese and reading Korean, he watches every film in its own language first, loves genre as much as art-house, and refuses to rank them. He writes Cinepuuulse from a seat in the last dark room in the city.
